Loved the Adesanya walkout - The Undertaker... carrying Jerod's ashes 😂. The fight itself though wasn't what I expected it to be. Cannonier could have pushed much harder, Adesanya played it perfectly. Looking forward to see what happens with Alex Pereira (nice touch getting him Octagon side). The way Pereira looks at Adesanya is like a Lion that hasn't eaten for months 😅.
Really felt for Max.. something looked off, not sure what it was. Volk is a darn beast though. Really is Alexandra the Great

Would've liked the Alex Pereira v Sean Strickland fight to have gone on a bit further, Strickland has got balls walking forwards like that, paid the price though, saw that one coming a mile away 😵💫
Again Sean O'Malley looked outstanding, very chilled, very confident - I think he was outscored in those earlier rounds though right? Would have been interesting if the eye poke hadn't have happened, O'Malley would've needed to step it up for sure.
I didn't catch much of the prelims other than Ian Garry v Gabe Green which I thoroughly enjoyed, beginning to get into Garry more now that he is focusing on himself more rather than getting the rub from Conor McGregor.
What did you guys think? @ogaddmma @joe_mmahive @louisingro @gerryblake @meangreen @slimmanmma @hannahwoking1 @gandzmma @vernardolau @anirbularee_571
About that Adesanya walkout though, since that fight was held the same night as WWE's Money in the Bank. Also that O'Malley was indeed in big trouble on that eye poke dilemma.
Hey Valentino - glad to you enjoyed it my friend.. hope all is well!
I'm slowly making my way through after a weekend away from tech. Writing a piece on Volk's performance over Holloway so I'll save my gushing for that, but as for the others;
I've been a Dricus Du Plessis fan for a while and to be honest this performance disappointed me a bit. He was so clearly searching to KO Tavares, swinging way too far into it and leaving his chin way out there. He's clearly the better fighter and in Round 3 him being gassed made him fight smarter, but he kept doing those stupid arm pumping sprints with his chin in the air. He's better than that and I think he'll probably recogonise it in his next performance
Ian Garry looks really slick. I'm not sold on him as like, future champ material but he's looking good at the moment. Green seemed to be a good matchup given that he's a pretty slow striker and didn't move his head much until it was too late, but Garry moved around the cage really nicely when he got backed up. Faking one way and then slipping out the side to regain the centre. I wish he'd hit the body more because he sometimes struggles when opponents choose to shell up. Still winning on damage but all the blows are being taken on the guard.
That's all so far, I'll give a little follow up once I've watched them all
Really looking forward to reading that, on Helwani's post UFC 276 show they are really gushing over Volk. He's entering my top 3 fav athletes, the fact is a stereotypical Aussie is brilliant.
I need to do more research on Dricus Du Plessis, thanks for the heads up there 👊
Big Dricus Du Plessis fan here, I was screaming at the TV 😂😂 hope he sorts that shit for next time
I watched the whole event. Garry looked good, you're right he needs to get out of the shadow now and become his own fighter. He does have a really solid skillset.
Uriah Hall was on prelims which was surprising to me, he did get pretty handled by a quality grappler.
O'Malley probably was losing the fight on points, yep, and in a three-round fight he wouldn't have been able to feel it out for much longer. I'm still confident he would have got the job done though.
Volkanovski is on another level to anyone at that weight. I was a bit like huh? with commentators saying that Holloway is at his peak (I don't think he is, as much as I enjoy him) but was having an off day. But that Volk was having the best day of his career. I completely reject that. Volkanovski has had way better fights recently where he showed a diverse range of skills. With this last fight with Max, he didn't really have to use all of his arsenal. He simply was faster than Max on the jab and responsively in the pocket.
I think Max is about as slow as we saw, Volk is just WAY better and faster and fitter than anyone gives him credit for. Even when he wins in extraordinary fashion, Max is having an off day? Nah, I don't buy it bub.
Pereira knockout was good. Strickland has some talents but lets be honest just a journeyman at the end of the day. Pereira v Izzy is on its way, possibly even soon. I still think that Izzy will have more MMA experience to get that job done as well. He made short work of Cannonier when I thought Jared might be the only kind of fighter that could hassle Izzy. Was not the case though, clearly.
Lawler was looking great until Miller went into some kind of second gear and got that choke. Great to see them two throw down.
Great event all round.
Ref Garry, that's a better way of putting it.
That was definately just a matter of time..
I got the impression that Volk was as surprised as everyone else, I think he was expecting more from Holloway but you're right, Volk made Max look average (it pains me to say that) and he has shown a more diverse skill set especially when facing adversity (that Ortega t-city triangle 😵💫) in previous fights.
I am going to catch this one later, I knew he won though.
I caught up with Macie Barber v Jessica Eye. Barber was looking amazing through the contender series and then her debut, good to see 'some' of that back in her (still a slugger at times). Also notice she is training at Team Alpha Male now.
This is a good listen

Helwani is the best, glad to hear he was out and about in person, have SB nation released any footage yet?
UFC 276 Presser... Dana White wasn't there again 🤨

UFC 276 Fight Motion is up 😀
That arm bar that dislocated Jessie Rose Clarke's joint, yikes 😬
That arm bar was quick, like super quick - I can’t tell if the tap was the same time as the dislocation
I fell asleep watching Adesayna - I don't event think it's his fault. He's a counterpuncher so when someone like Cannonier fights like that, Izzy does the intelligent thing and wins skillfully, but it can look boring, must be hard when fans have such high expectations.
I have to say, he sounds really fired up for Alex Pereira though. That's the next UFC fight to make. The build up to that will be incredibly entertaining.
Glad Strickland got KO'd - what a prick.
Volk should be no2 P4P now.
Already looking forward to it 😂
