So after watching "T-city" come short in both brutal featherweight title fights (vs Max Holloway ufc 231, then most recently vs Alexander Volkanovski ufc 266),assuming the title stays in the hands of either max or Alex, will we see the currently ranked no.2 make a move into the stacked lightweight division? Dustin and oliveira have both had success since moving from featherweight to lightweight, I personally don't see why ortega couldn't find success in this division, he stands at 5ft 9inches tall which is equivalent to Dustin and only 1 inch shorter, than the champ himself (Oilveira), although reach isn't on ortega's side, I don't think he would look small in this division, I also think there are some fun fights for him in this shark tank of a division, it certinaly makes for a interesting conversation, let me know what you fellow fans think?

Any idea what his weight cut has been like in the past?
He's always made weight, but I know of recent memory, him vs Korean zombie, he had to get rid of his long hair to help him get lower on the scales, so I'm guessing that particular weight cut was a tough one.
Not good if you gotta cut your hair to make weight..

Definitely not bud. Yeah you and me both, I rate him so highly but unfortunately for him he's got 2 monsters in Volkanovski and Holloway infront of him and I don't see that changing any time soon. I think he could be a real problem, we've seen in lightweight division it seems to be the common factor of , if you have a great submission game you'll do well ( benil, Islam, Charles), he can also Definitely eat shots so I don't expect the move up with cause his chin too much problems. Like colby with usman now, I find it hard to see how he can get a shot anytime soon.
Agree mate, Ortega is marketing gold for the UFC, shame he has two assassins at the top that ain't going anywhere soon. Yeah I get what you mean with Charles Oliveira being at the top in the LW division, which I never expected. Maybe there is a chance with him!
Ortega could ‘T City’ any mother fucker at lightweight. Could he do a 5 round mix with stand up though? Not so sure, seen him in too many wars recently.
Agreed as we've seen with many fighters, these fights are awesome to see, but it's seriously takes its toll later on in your career.
