Fight Week: Max Holloway vs. Arnold Allen

With last week’s event headlining MiddleWeight contenders Alex Pereira vs. Israel Adesanya at UFC 287 in Miami, the UFC is planning to head to Kansas City this Saturday on April 15th for the main event with top Featherweight contenders Max Halloway (#2) vs. Arnold Allen (#4). The co-main bout will feature Edson Barbosa (#14) and rising Featherweight contender Billy Quarintilo. There’s also some really good underrated fights that you don’t wanna miss like Light Heavyweight contenders Dustin Jacoby (#13) vs. Azamat Murzakanov (#15), Bantamweight contenders Pedro Munhoz (#9) vs. Chris Gutierrez (#13), and last on the prelims is Flyweight Contenders Brandon Royval (#4) vs. Matheus Nicolau (#5). The Prelims will start at 5:30PM EST and the main card will start at 8:30PM EST on ESPN+ or UFCFIGHTPASS.

Now let’s talk about the main event, Max Halloway (23-7) is coming into this fight after his Decision loss against Featherweight Champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 276. Halloway made his UFC debut way back in 2012 against Dustin Poirier and has dominated the Lightweight and Featherweight division since his arrival. Halloway has fought many great UFC fights and has the record for the most strikes landed in the UFC standing at 3,217 total strikes landed, he has also never been TKO’d or KO’d in his MMA career. From 2014-2018 Halloway was going on a 13-fight win streak as well as being the former Featherweight champion, during this streak he fought the top UFC fighters at the time like Anthony Pettis, Brian Ortega, Charles Oliveira, Cub Swanson, and Jose Aldo twice. Without a doubt Max Halloway will enter the UFC Hall Of Fame before or after he retires from the sport of MMA.

Arnold Allen (19-1) is coming into this fight with a 12-fight winning streak, with his last opponent being Calvin Kattar finishing him in the 2nd round by TKO/KO. Allen Made his UFC Debut back in 2015 and hasn’t looked back since, he has an undefeated record in the UFC so far and has beat Featherweight opponents like Dan Hooker, Gilbert Melendez, Calvin Kattar, and Sodiq Yusuff. Allen has also never been finished in his MMA Career, his only loss was back in 2014 in Cage Warriors against Marcin Wrzosek by decision. Allen is looking to climb up the ranks if he beats Halloway, and maybe even fight for the title to whomever wins at UFC 290 with Alexander Volkanovski vs. Yair Rodriguez.

Who do you guys have winning the main event let me know in the comments below, Lets Gooo!

I think arnold may be the power puncher that max holloway hasn't faced yet. I know people talk about volk, and he is powerful, but arnold while only having that recent finish over dan hooker (not counting the kattar one), is much bigger and longer than holloway, i think his overall mma game is better as well, but we will have to wait until saturday! I got arnold by tko

I like this statement, I’m really intrigued to see how this goes down, i think it’s another loss for Max, I bloody love the guy but I just get the feeling Arnold is going up and Max is sliding down and they get to meet within that vector
