Fight Week, Petr Yan vs. Merab Dvalishvili

The month of March cannot get any better for UFC fans. With last week's event the headliners for UFC 285 was Jon Jones vs. Cyril Gane fighting for the heavyweight championship in Las Vegas, and next week’s event is headlining with Leon Edwards defending his title for the first time against former Welterweight champion Kamaru Usman at the O2 arena in London, England at UFC 285.

But this week’s main event is a huge Bantamweight matchup with the number two contender and former Bantamweight Champion Petr Yan facing off against the number three contender and rising star Merab Dvalishvili.

The co-main is a Heavyweight bout with number sixth contender Alexander Volkov facing against number fifthteen contender Alexandr Romanov. The card is also bringing in the rescheduled fight with the Light Heavyweight contenders Nikita Krylov vs. Ryan Spann, the fight was canceled the night of the event due to Krylov falling ill and not able to compete.

Now let's get to the main event, Petr Yan (16-4) is coming into this fight with a two fight losing streak, with both fights ending by split decision against Bantamweight champion Aljamain Sterling at UFC 273, and a controversial loss against number one contender Sean O’malley at UFC 280.

Yan has also fought and beaten the best Bantamweight contenders like Cory Sandhagen, Jose Aldo, Uriah Faber, John Dodson, and Jimmie Rivera. Merab Dvalishvili (15-4) is coming into this fight with a eight fight winning streak with his last fight winning by decision against former Featherweight and Bantamweight hall of fame champion Jose Aldo, and his last three fights before that he beat top Bantamweight contenders Marlon Moraes, Cody Stamann, and John Dodson.

For this card just to be a fight night, it's pretty stacked. Without a doubt if this was a PPV I would definitely make the purchase. Who do you guys have winning the main event? Let me know in the comments below.

This card is awesome. So happy Spann and Krylov fight got rescheduled on this card. I’m having a hard time deciding who wins most these fights. They can be so close. I’d hate for Yan to go on a three fight losing skid. I think he is a great fighter and love to watch him. His boxing is legit. But Merabs wrestling might be a problem. So I’m going to go Merab on this fight. Then I’m going to take Volkov over Romanov. I just think he’s too much for Romanov. Lastly I like Spann over Krylov. I think he can either KO him or finish him by Guillotine.

You know I thought Yan had been dropped by the UFC... Wasn't there a notification on the UFC Twitter roster that pings up when fighters get cut?
