Okay, let me asked you that question again. Have you ever heard The King of Dragons before?
Taiwanese would wish there was their own UFC or ONE Championships, even though Mixed Martial Arts was slowly began to get into the hype train for converting the busy office men to be the next McGregor or that goat Khabib. There was no stranger that Dragon Fight Art and the founder himself (Described him as Dragon of Taiwan, if I'm not mistaken) has the idea of promoting this kind of combat sports for the Taiwanese audiences.
The idea of The King of Dragons sure sounds like they're bringing the idea of not just the early days of UFC, but also been inspired from Netflix anime Kengan Asuhra, as according to Taiwanese netizens.
This fight league was set to entered the third season, titled The Chapter of NIOH, which will be held online (in case for COVID) via Pay-per-view. The first fight was held later this weekend, just in time where UFC has returned from the winter break, even though this broadcast was aired on Chinese.
Just in case for those who wondered, the fight began with 8 fighters in the tournament format, similarly to Bellator & ONE where they held their Championship Fight throughout the elimination. Also each and every fighters have their own personality, especially they're fight in a different fight type.
So whose expecting to see the action here in Taipei? Well, we shall see for that.
You can keep up the update through their Facebook or Instagram if you like to know more about the league.
